About Melissa, the girl behind the lens

WELCOME!

If you've made it here then you must want to know a little more about who I am so here it is!

My name is Melissa Warren and I'm based out of Hiram, Ga. I have an amazing husband, Christian, a perfect little boy, Oliver, and two corgis, Beesly (yes, like Pam Beesly from The Office) and Cooper. I'm a Georgia native but I love to visit new places. When I'm not photographing, I stay home with Oliver so our days are spent with lots of time outside and playing (it's Ollie's world and I'm just living in it lol)

Some of my favorite things include:

+My family

+Coffee

+Mexican food

+Wine

+Animals

+Parks and Rec

+The Office

+New Girl

+Marvel

I also love to make people laugh so I will most likely be goofy, or even a little awkward, and I can never pass up an opportunity for a sarcastic remark.

Why and How I Became a Photographer

I know exactly what it's like to miss life's most precious moments

There's A little more to the backstory of how Warren Studio Photography came to be and why I'm here. I graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I know you must be asking, what is this science nerd doing photographing some of the most important moments in other people's lives and why should I choose her to capture my moment??

Well, like most other photographers I've always had a love for photography (I remember my first Nikon Coolpix and taking it everywhere with me just to get photos of anything that I thought was interesting) but I never thought of it as something that would be my main focus in life. That all changed when I lost my mom in 2018, She was my best friend in the world, one of the best people I've had the honor to know and I still miss her daily. Once she passed, I realized how few photos we had together of all the special moments in life that we had shared and that I only had my memory of to look back on. I was working in a microbiology lab in Kennesaw at the time and it was like a wave of realization hit me. I wanted to be there for people to capture the most important and fun times in their lives so that they would have something more than their memories to look back on years later and relive those special moments in time. It was such a hard decision to make that change in my life after all of the time and hard work I had put into my degree, but I am so glad that I did.  Starting Warren Studio photography has brought me so much joy and happiness and that is all that I have ever wanted in life.

Don't get me wrong, I am still a huge nerd and will spout random facts if given the chance, but being a photographer is what makes me truly happy.

I truly believe that everyone deserves and needs to capture moments in their life because as time goes on, our memories will fade and change and the reality is, everyone loses someone close to them. If I could go back in time, I would take so many more photos with my mom. I would capture even the "simplest" things because to have them now, would be a blessing. That is the true motivation behind why I started Warren Studio Photography and why I want to capture those moments for YOU.

If this resonates with you and you want to start (or keep) documenting moments in life, I would love to chat and make everlasting memories together!
